Our hope is that In Plain Sight will be screened in high school and college classrooms as well as by community groups. As such, we have created a pedagogical module for those teachers and community organizers looking for materials to help contextualize, analyze, and discuss the film. 

 

The goal of In Plain Sight is not simply to highlight the problems and ubiquity of metronormativity, but also to encourage changes in the ways we construct, understand, and teach about LGBTQ experiences and communities. We hope that these materials will inspire pedagogues in LGBTQ Studies, Gender Studies, American Studies, Geography, Sociology, Anthropology, and Political Science to do precisely this through incorporating Rural Queer Studies into their classes!
